Kelly Wilson Miller Bio

26 04 2010

Kelly Miller is an accomplished online media professional with 5 years of editorial, product management and marketing experience from AOL. She has a solid track record of owning the editorial process on popular sites across AOL that receive millions of daily page views, such as AIM.com, AIM Dashboard, AOL People Connection and AOL Community’s Breast Cancer Awareness Blog, United for Pink. As managing editor for AOL Community’s Breast Cancer Awareness initiative for 3 years, Kelly grew unique views and user engagement year over year. She created a plan and transformed the initial platform from a single web page format to a sponsored blog, where she managed a team of freelance health bloggers. As the editorial voice of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), she guided the overall voice and tone of all newsletters, AIM product copy, email marketing and international sunset messaging campaigns that reached audiences of over 20M. Kelly is SEO certified, an expert at Omniture reporting, and is trained in Agile Scrum methodologies.

As a Product Manager, Kelly is credited with leading the website redesign of AOL People Connection in August 2008, to its current look and feel.  Kelly’s creative leadership resulted in doubled page views for AIM Dashboard in 2008. Her ability to write for a variety of different audiences led her to work with the Bebo marketing team under the SVP of Marketing and Partnerships. In this role she contributed to the growth of the Bebo user base from 22M to 50M without a marketing budget. She also led the redesign of AIM.com, working closely with the AIM Design team, ramping it up in time for the feature rich launch of AOL Lifestream in September 2009.  Kelly constantly challenges herself in the ever changing roles she faces. She voluntarily presented a Blogging seminar to fellow employees, and won the 2007 Product Innovation Award, pitching her original product concept to an executive panel. Kelly always thinks strategically and strives to make decisions that appeal to the end user.

Kelly has experience working with international teams, from London to India, and enjoys collaborating with a variety of stakeholders on projects from QA, Legal, Developers, Sales and Senior Management. She clearly communicates major project developments, risks and deadlines, able to shift priorities easily to keep the team on track. Kelly has experience managing relationships with clients such as WeeMee and American Greetings, where she oversaw the business relationship and a budget of 1M. Kelly is comfortable being the point person on many large scale projects, from managing day-to-day editorial programs on highly trafficked portals, implementing complex programming plans and drafting consumer communications under tight deadlines.

Kelly thrives in a fast-paced environment, where metrics, content strategy and close attention to user feedback drive the business strategy, allowing her to stay ahead of the curve, anticipating her next success.
